2.5 Online Payments
- The user may make advance payments for consultations and medical services through the BAC Credomatic payment platform, under SUGEF regulation.
- The right of withdrawal may be exercised within 8 days after payment, as long as the service has not been received.
- To request refunds, the USER must complete the corresponding form and appear in person at the offices of Hospital Clínica Bíblica.
- The online payment covers only the medical consultation. Additional services must be paid on the day of the appointment.
- If the USER belongs to a discount agreement, this will not be automatically applied to the online payment. It must be handled separately.

2.7 Communications

3.1 Objective
To establish the conditions, requirements and procedures for accessing financing for medical services offered by Hospital Clínica Bíblica, in order to facilitate access to quality medical care.
3.2 Scope
This regulation applies to all patients who wish to finance medical services such as consultations, laboratory tests, surgical procedures, hospitalization, medical imaging and other services offered by the hospital.
3.3 Types of Financing
- Direct financing through Hospital Clínica Bíblica.
- Financing through agreements with external financial institutions.
- Deferred payment plans for members of the Mi Vida program.
3.4 Requirements to apply for financing
- Be of legal age.
- Present a valid identity document.
- Complete the financing application form.
- Present proof of income or financial documentation.
- Accept the terms and conditions of the financing contract.
3.5 Application Procedure
- Complete the form online or in person.
- Attach the required documents.
- The hospital will evaluate the application and notify approval or rejection.
- In case of approval, the financing contract will be signed.
- The patient will be able to start the medical treatment according to the approved plan.
3.6 General Conditions, Interest Rates and Terms
- Financing is subject to credit evaluation.
- The maximum amount that can be financed will depend on the type of service and the applicant's profile.
- The hospital reserves the right to modify the conditions without prior notice.
- Credits may be granted for medical-hospital services at Hospital Clínica Bíblica from ¢500,000.00 to ¢2,500,000.00 (legal tender of the Republic of Costa Rica), for a term of twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) months, with an interest rate of eighteen percent (18%) per annum; all according to what ASEMECO approves for the particular case and according to the amount and term approved.
- Payments shall be made only by automatic charge to credit or debit card, or by any other means that ASEMECO may authorize in an extraordinary manner. The rates indicated in the loans shall be fixed.
- After one day of delay or default of payments, ASEMECO shall charge a delinquent interest of two percent (2%) per month, on the proportion of the overdue installments.
3.7 Authorization and Acceptance of Conditions by the Applicant
The applicant authorizes and accepts the following conditions to process the loan application:
- Demonstrate their ability to pay.
- Comply with all the requirements and documentation necessary to complete the loan application, including the requirements defined in Law 9859.
- Authorize ASEMECO to make inquiries about their credit situation in the national financial system.
- Submit the report from the Credit Information Center (CIC) issued by any entity of the National Financial System, no more than fifteen days after it was issued.
- Present certification or proof of at least six months of work relationship with the same employer, in case of working with any company or organization.
- Submit original salary statement with: date of entry; not more than fifteen days old; detail of gross and net salary; indication of being free of liens; and detail of deductions.
- Present, to ASEMECO's satisfaction, the guarantees that will respond for the payment of the loan.
- Photocopy of both sides of the identity cards of the debtor and the guarantor.
- Any other requirement that ASEMECO considers necessary.
- The application will be analyzed once all the requirements have been met and all the documentation required by the loan officer has been provided.
- Not to have any liens on salary or assets.
- Agree to be contacted by the loan officer by the means available.
- Clearly detail the exact address of your residence and that of the guarantor.
- Declare the truthfulness of the data; in case of inconsistencies, ASEMECO may reject the application without liability.
- The approved credit will be used only for medical services, hospital, laboratory, medical imaging, fees and/or pharmacy products of Hospital Clínica Bíblica. The beneficiary will not receive cash from ASEMECO.
- The approved credit shall be for personal use or for family members with economic dependency of the beneficiary.
3.8 Guarantee
- It is an indispensable requirement to sign a personal guarantee with fiduciary backing.
- When adding the gross monthly salaries, at least twenty percent (20%) of the approved loan amount must be covered, and the guarantor's liquid salary must be equal to or greater than the estimated installment. ASEMECO may request additional information.
- Guarantors may be salaried persons (public or private company) who meet the established requirements.
- Family members of the applicant who meet the requirements are admitted as guarantors.
- The guarantor's minimum salary must be twenty percent (20%) higher than the minimum salary or pension subject to garnishment.
- Monthly income must be free of liens/liens and 25% of the income must cover the monthly payment. Required documents: salary statement (≤15 days, on letterhead, signed and stamped, with gross/net, free of liens, time worked, type of appointment, date of entry), copy of last month's employer's order (CCSS), utility bill indicating address, and copy of identity card.
- Non-salaried persons will not be accepted as collateral.
3.9 Credit Approval
Once the application has been approved by ASEMECO's credit manager, the beneficiary may make immediate use of the services required at the Clínica Bíblica Hospital.
3.10 Preferential interest
Those who maintain affiliation to the Mi Vida Program may opt for a preferential rate of fifteen percent (15%). In order to keep it during the term of the loan, the affiliation must be maintained; otherwise, ASEMECO may increase the rate by two percent (2%) unilaterally.
3.11 Payment Compliance
- Credit payments may be made on a monthly basis. The user may make extraordinary payments to reduce the installment or term.
- ASEMECO may demand the immediate cancellation of the debt for lack of timely payment.
- The expenses for legal collection actions shall be assumed by the debtor or guarantors.
3.12 Rights and Obligations of the User

- Receive medical care in accordance with the approved plan.

- To comply with the payments within the established deadlines.
- Report any changes in your financial situation.

3.13 Responsibilities of the Hospital

3.14 Exceptions
- The loan application and documents may be submitted in person or by other means authorized by ASEMECO and the applicant; its submission does not oblige approval.
- The Credit department shall reject the application if additional requirements/documents are not completed within ten working days from the respective communication.
3.15 Processing of Personal Data
- Clínica Bíblica Hospital is committed to protect personal data in accordance with Law No. 8968.
- The information will be used only for purposes related to the application and management of financing.
3.16 Applicable Legal Provisions
This regulation is governed by Costa Rican law, including the Consumer Protection Law, the Personal Data Protection Law and other applicable regulations.

5. Refunds
Refunds of payments made for medical services are subject to the legal provisions in force. VAT refunds (4%) are allowed on private medical services if payment is made by credit or debit card, in accordance with Article 39 of the VAT Law Regulations. No refunds are accepted on medicines once they have been withdrawn, except for manufacturing defects or errors in the preparation of the order. Requests for refunds must be made in writing and will be evaluated by the corresponding department.
5.1 Objective
To establish guidelines and procedures for the management of returns of medical services, pharmaceutical products, master medications and other goods acquired through Clínica Bíblica Hospital, guaranteeing transparency, equity and legal compliance.
5.2 Scope
This regulation applies to all patients, clients and users who make purchases or contract medical, pharmaceutical or related services with the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, both in person and digitally.
5.3 Types of Refunds
- Medical services not rendered due to early cancellation.
- Medications not withdrawn or incorrectly delivered.
- Master medications with preparation defects.
- Pharmaceutical products with manufacturing defects.
5.4 Procedure for Requesting a Refund
- The USER may exercise the right of withdrawal within a period equal to or less than eight (08) days after making the payment on the app or website, provided that he/she has not received the service paid for.

11. Pharmacy - Pick-up
The Pick-up Pharmacy service allows the user to place orders online and pick them up at the hospital headquarters. A valid prescription is required to place the order. The customer must pick up the order within 24 hours of confirmation. Psychotropic medication purchases are not accepted through this method.
11.1 Objective
To establish the norms and procedures for the use of the Pharmacy Pick-up service of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, guaranteeing efficient, safe attention in accordance with current regulations.
11.2 Scope
These regulations apply to all users who request medications through the website or by telephone, and who choose to pick them up in person at the Pick-up location.
11.3 Application Procedure
The user must make the request for medicines through the online form or by telephone call. The user must indicate personal data, prescription number, medicines required and select the Pick-up option as the delivery method.
11.4 Requirements
- Present a valid prescription.
- Official identification at the time of pick-up.
- Confirmation of the request sent by the system.
- Payment previously made if applicable.
11.5 Delivery Conditions
Medications will be available for pick-up only at the hospital's main office. The user must go to the designated pick-up area and follow the instructions of the pharmaceutical staff.
11.6 Pick-up Times
The user must pick up the order within a maximum period of 24 hours from the confirmation of availability. After this time, the order will be cancelled and the drugs will be returned to inventory.
11.7 Exceptions
- Requests for psychotropic medications are not accepted by this means.
- Withdrawal by third parties without written authorization is not allowed.
- No returns are accepted once the product has been withdrawn, except for manufacturing defects.
11.8 Treatment of Personal Data
The information provided by the user will be treated in accordance with Law No. 8968 on Personal Data Protection. The hospital guarantees the confidentiality and security of the data.
11.9 Responsibilities of the User

12. Pharmacy - Magistrales Prescription Formulation
The Pharmacy -Magistrales- offers personalized preparation of medications according to the patient's specific needs. This service requires a specific and detailed medical prescription. Once the product is delivered, no returns are accepted, except for manufacturing defects or errors in the preparation.
12.1 Objective
To establish the technical, legal and operational guidelines for the formulation of master medications in the pharmacy of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital, guaranteeing the safety, efficacy and quality of the products prepared.
12.2 Scope
These regulations apply to all pharmaceutical, technical and administrative personnel involved in the formulation, control, storage and delivery of master medications in the pharmacy of the Clínica Bíblica Hospital.
12.3 Definitions
- Magistral preparation or formula: medication intended for an individualized patient, prepared by or under the supervision of a pharmacist, to comply with a detailed prescription of the active ingredients it contains, according to established good manufacturing and quality control practices. It is dispensed in the pharmacy or hospital pharmacy service, providing the indications for the patient.
- Office preparation or officinal preparation: drug intended for direct dispensing to patients attended by pharmacy offices or hospital pharmacy services, prepared by or under the direction of a pharmacist or pharmaceutical chemist, described in an official formulary, prepared according to established good manufacturing practices and quality control and with due information to the patient.
- Shelf life: time interval within which the master formula may be used, provided it is kept within the storage and preservation conditions established by the pharmacist.
- Master formula of the pharmaceutical preparation: document that describes in detail the raw materials with their quantities and packaging materials, preparation procedure and care to be taken, specifications, pharmacological properties, quality control, storage conditions and labeling requirements of the pharmaceutical preparation.
12.4 Technical and legal requirements
The formulation of magistral drugs should comply with the current regulations of the Costa Rican Ministry of Health, the General Health Law, the Central American Technical Regulations (RTCA) and the Good Practices for Magistral Preparation.
12.5 Formulation Procedure
- Receipt and validation of the medical prescription.
- Verification of availability of raw materials.
- Preparation of the work area and equipment.
- Preparation of the drug according to the prescribed formula.
- Labeling and registration of the product.
- Quality control prior to delivery.
12.6 Quality and safety conditions
Hygiene, sterility (when applicable), equipment calibration and process validation protocols must be strictly followed. All inputs must have a certificate of analysis and traceability.
12.7 Traceability
Each preparation should have a detailed record that includes: lot number, date of preparation, expiration date, name of the patient, name of the prescribing professional and name of the pharmacist responsible.
12.8 Storage
Magistral drugs should be stored under controlled conditions of temperature, humidity and light, according to product specifications. Separation of expired or quarantined products should be ensured.
12.9 Delivery
Delivery should be made only to the patient or authorized person, after verification of identity. Information should be provided on the use, conservation and expiration date of the drug.
12.10 Exceptions
Medications without a valid prescription, with ingredients prohibited by national regulations, or that represent a risk to the patient's health according to the criteria of the pharmacist in charge, shall not be formulated.
12.11 Processing of personal data
All patient information will be treated in accordance with Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of Personal Data. Confidentiality and exclusive use for therapeutic purposes is guaranteed.
12.12 Responsibilities
- The pharmaceutical staff is responsible for the correct formulation, control and documentation of master medications.
- The prescription of a preparation may only be elaborated by medical personnel duly registered and active before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica, and by the professionals allowed by the General Health Law in their respective practice.
- Hospital Clínica Bíblica is responsible for providing the necessary resources, infrastructure and supervision.
12.13 Legal Provisions
These regulations are governed by the General Health Law, Law No. 8968, the Pharmacy Regulations of the Ministry of Health and other regulations in force in Costa Rica related to the preparation of master medications.
13. Express Pharmacy
The Express Pharmacy service allows for the fast delivery of medications to your home. It is subject to inventory availability and geographic coverage. The customer must provide accurate delivery information, including complete address and contact number. The hospital is not responsible for missed deliveries due to incorrect or incomplete information.
13.1 Objective
To establish the guidelines and conditions for the use of the Hospital Clínica Bíblica's Express Pharmacy service, guaranteeing efficient, safe and timely home delivery of medications.
13.2 Scope
These regulations apply to all users who request medications through the Express Pharmacy service, as well as to the personnel in charge of managing, preparing and delivering orders.
13.3 Requirements
- To have a valid and legible medical prescription.
- Identification of the patient.
- Exact delivery address.
- Active contact number.
- Express authorization for the processing of personal data.
13.4 Application Procedure
- The user must make his/her request through the enabled channels (website, mobile application or phone call), providing the valid medical prescription, personal data, delivery address and payment method.
- Contact Center executives receive the request and assemble the order on the Express platform.
- Verification of stock, sales conditions and approval of the prescription by the pharmaceutical regent.
- Customer provides exact address to validate courier coverage.
- There are two types of shipments:
- Those that do not require a prescription.
- Those that require supervision and authorization by the pharmaceutical regent.
- The pharmaceutical regent authorizes prescriptions and provides professional advice if necessary.
13.5 Dispatch of Cold Chain Drugs
- Proper packaging according to established procedures.
- Verification by the pharmaceutical regent.
- Daily monitoring of cooler condition and temperature conditions.
13.6 Psychotropic and Narcotic Drugs
- The pharmacist regent should review updates from the Ministry of Health and College of Pharmacists.
- Only pharmacists registered in the Digital Prescription System may dispense these drugs, when permitted by regulations.
- Currently, according to official letter FPF-10009-07-2023, the delivery of psychotropic and narcotic drugs to private homes is suspended.
- For products for hospital use only, the regent should coordinate with the Hospital Pharmacy or CEDI prior to dispensing.
13.7 Dispensing of Magistral Medications
- A valid prescription must always be requested.
- The regent pharmacist validates and authorizes the prescription.
- The pharmacy clerk prepares the medication following the instructions IT.FA-045.
13.8 Redemption Program
- Offering programs such as "Mi Vida" and patient plans from pharmaceutical laboratories.
- Pharmacy assistants should be familiar with policies and regulations of these programs.
- Use of FO.FA-049 forms to refer patients to the Pharmaceutical Care Program.
13.9 Outside the GAM
- Shipments by Correos de Costa Rica, TransFarma (cold chain) and authorized bus terminals.
- Orders properly packed and labeled with destination information.
- Enlistment process according to instructions IT.FA-045.
13.10 Express Service for Special Products
- Shipment of specialized pharmaceutical products (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc.) with prior authorization from the pharmaceutical regent.
- Orders managed and pre-invoiced by the Contact Center.
- Express Pharmacy packs and packages according to specific recommendations.
13.11 "My Life" Benefits Program
- Knowledge and application of discounts to affiliated customers.
- Verification of customer status in the INFORED platform before applying benefits.
13.12 Delivery Conditions
Delivery shall be made only within the coverage area established by the hospital. The user must be present to receive the order or authorize a third party with valid identification.
13.13 Delivery Times
Orders will be delivered within an estimated 2 to 6 business hours, depending on the location and availability of the product. Orders placed after business hours will be processed the next business day.
13.14 Exceptions
- Controlled, psychotropic or refrigerated medications that do not meet requirements will not be delivered.
- No deliveries will be made to areas out of coverage or under adverse weather conditions.
13.15 Processing of Personal Data

This regulation is governed by the Costa Rican legislation in force, especially by the General Health Law, the Consumer Protection Law and the Personal Data Protection Law. Any controversy shall be resolved by the competent courts of the Republic of Costa Rica.
