Rights and Duties of Clínica Bíblica's Users

Rights and Duties

Rights

  1. Receive clear, concise and timely information about their rights and duties, as well as the correct way to exercise them.
  2. To be informed of the name, surname, professional grade and position held by the health personnel providing care.
  3. To have the necessary information and, based on it, to give or withhold their authorization to receive a certain medical procedure or treatment.
  4. To receive, without any distinction whatsoever, a dignified treatment: Respect, consideration and kindness.
  5. Receive medical attention with due efficiency and diligence.
  6. To be attended without delay in emergency situations.
  7. To be seen punctually at the time established in the appointment, except in justified situations of unforeseen circumstances or force majeure.
  8. Refuse to be examined or receive treatment, except in exceptional or emergency situations, provided for in other laws, in which public health, the common good and the rights of third parties prevail. In case of refusal, there must be a written record.
  9. Sign the informed consent for surgery, anesthesia or other procedure and commitment to comply. If the patient is unconscious, cannot express his/her will or is a minor, a legal representative must sign in his/her place.
  10. Accept or reject proposals to participate in clinical research studies.
  11. To have access to his or her clinical record and to be provided with a copy. May authorize third parties when the respective legal authorization is provided.
  12. Receive care in a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
  13. Have the confidentiality of your medical history and all information related to your illness respected, except when, by special law, notice must be given to the health authorities.
  14. To express freely and in writing their will to donate their organs for therapeutic purposes after their death.
  15. To file claims when their rights have been violated.
  16. To make use of their personal belongings during hospitalization, subject to the rules of the Hospital and as long as the rights of other patients are not violated.
  17. Receive a statement of account detailing and explaining all expenses incurred in your treatment.
  18. To receive visits from family or friends if you so desire, as long as your health condition permits and within the established schedule.

Duties

  1. Provide as much complete information as possible regarding your health status, past illnesses, hospitalizations, medications or other conditions related to your health.
  2. Participate in treatment decisions and follow instructions about your plan of care.
  3. Understand and understand what could happen to you if you refuse to follow your health care instructions.
  4. Talk to your doctor or other health care provider if you want a change of doctor, specialist or hospital.
  5. Ask questions of the physician or other health care provider when you do not understand information or instructions.
  6. Show respect and consideration for the staff assisting with your care.
  7. Follow internal regulations regarding smoking, noise and visitation.
  8. Understand that the health services you receive must be paid for, and be willing to follow the established bill payment process.
  9. Communicate, as soon as possible, any inconvenience for the cancellation of the services received.
